Hike up to Hams Bluff Light in St. Croix

Are you looking for a great hike where you can enjoy panoramic views of the dramatic cliffs of St. Croix? Our hike up to the Hams Bluff Lighthouse is a great way to see some of the island’s history and take in views of the breathtaking scenery.

Your journey begins with a hike up to Hams Bluff Light that was built by the Danish in 1915 as a beacon for ships at sea along St. Croix’s coastline. The hike up to the lighthouse is steep but relatively short (t-mile roundtrip), and utilizes a gentle, well-maintained trail in the far northwest corner of the island.

Along the way, your guide will tell you about different plant and animal species including insects, mongooses, birds of prey, and the occasional rock climbing goat!

Standing dramatically near the cliff face, the lighthouse site offers amazing panoramic views of St. Croix’s north and west coasts, and offshoot trails provide the option to explore more of Hams Bluff!

You will meet your guide(s) at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach on the west end of St. Croix at 8:30 a.m. and the hike will finish around 11:30 a.m.
